Jon Klassen’s beloved books, I Want My Hat Back, This is Not My Hat and We Found A Hat, have found a new life of their own live on stage. All your favourites including Bear, Little Fish and the Turtles will be making an appearance in this one-of-a-kind trilogy.

Directed by Dritero Kasapi (Artistic Director of Sweden’s National Touring Theatre, Riksteatern) whose previous UK work includes the acclaimed Nina – a story about me and Nina Simone (Traverse, Young Vic and UK tour).

Tom is living with young onset dementia. We meet him as he prepares for his 55th birthday party and past memories come flooding back.

Dementia UK is supporting the tour of The Nature of Forgetting and Theatre RE by providing specialist dementia nurses at each of the post-show discussions. Dr Meher Lad, Clinical Research Fellow from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Newcastle University, will be joining an Admiral Nurse from Dementia UK and members of the Theatre RE creative team for the post-show discussion on Friday 17 February.

The singing mermaid is tempted away to join a travelling circus, with the promise of a life of excitement (and her own swimming pool!). The circus audiences love her singing but she soon finds she’s been tricked by the dastardly circus master.
Will she ever escape? And who will help her along the way?
With three talented performers, beautiful puppets and music & songs by Barb Jungr, Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks’ much-loved story comes to the stage.
