Work Experience

Work Experience at Northern Stage is for anyone aged 14+ looking to gain an insight into creative careers that don’t include acting or directing. With a focus on technical and production our intensive week of work experience also gives a taste of what its like to be a producer, work in digital communications, participation, finance and administration and operations.

Work Experience 2022

We offer two week-long introductions to non-acting careers in theatre.

Applications will be open soon for our Work Experience Weeks

  • Week 1: 27 Jun – 1 Jul
  • Week 2 : 4 – 8 Jul

We will invite short-listed applicants to do a short phone or Zoom interview – don’t let this put you off, it’s good practice for future job interviews and we’ll supply the questions in advance so you can feel more prepared.

Northern Stage is committed to widening participation and we are keen to receive applications from young people who are in receipt of free school meals, whose families are in receipt of means-tested benefits, those who identify as Black and ethnically diverse, those with refugee status, those who have a disability or learning difficulty of any kind.

If you are a young person, teacher or parent/guardian who’d like to know more, please email workexperience@northernstage.co.uk.
